I had the same reaction the first time I heard of carrot cake, but they said “Try it you’ll like it!” and I did try it and loved it!

Definitely. Don’t use too much sugar, carrots should be sweet already.

But if you don’t like it: Have a piece of sweet potato pie. Or pumpkin ~.

With cream cheese icing? YES!

Actually carrots are very high in sugar content.

Not as high as sugar beets, to be sure, but still quite high.

My husband make a fabulous carrot cake that is always requested at pot lucks. There is never any left to bring home – darn!

The popularity of carrot cake was revived in the United Kingdom because of rationing during the Second World War. And all these years I thought it was revived in Germany during that time. Time to make a carrot cake.

That was my reaction at first, carrots for dessert? What do you against dessert? But I found out I do like it. It has to be moist though.

I love carrot cake as long as it doesn’t have any raisins. Zucchini cake is great too!
