I heard a story about a lady opening a coffee shop, and the first customer ordered cheesecake. She had forgotten to buy a cheesecake, and had her aid sneak out the back to the bakery next door, and served it to the customer, and asked the customer if she was a fan of cheesecake. she said “No I’m the cook at the bakery and wanted to taste the competitions cheesecake”.
I can think of lots of reasons to return something to a market, but 1-day-old rancid milk never happens. Cartons are always date stamped and examined frequently.

is the manager trying to buy all the other store’s milk so he can restock his own store?

Favorite store?
Several, depending on the kind of purchase to be done. Long list; done that here before.

A store where only the Manager can do refunds wouldn’t be my favorite.
