I used to be, but then I found apathy.
I was never sentful in the first place!
It’s a fool’s errand. There will always be a perceived resentment, angst, regret or anger on the part of the child. You can’t win. Enjoy your time with him and let the chips fall where they may….

how come the same concern is not shown up for academic contests?
Yeah, let him be resentful for heckling him at the game.
