I was just watching Laurel and Hardy’s You’re Darn Tootin’ (1928) last night—with the famous soup scene. Stan tries to add salt to his soup, but none comes out, so he takes off the top of the shaker and pours a bit in. Then he props the top back on the shaker and sets it down—when Ollie tries to shake a bit into his soup. . . .After Ollie trades soup bowls, Stan decides he needs a bit of pepper. . . .
