I used to snorkel off a beach in Boca Raton, Florida that was called ‘Red Reef’. It had an actual reef close to shore, so those who weren’t great swimmers could see beautiful fish without going to the middle of the ocean. Couldn’t do it now, due to bad eye sight, but glad I got the chance when I had better eyes…

Doing your adventuring in front of the TV isn’t as satisfying, but it is a lot safer

I could not shake off the feeling of suffocation for the brief time I tried boat-based snorkeling in Maui. We wasted an hour renting our own snorkeling equipment for land-based diving, which we never used. I should have conditioned myself.

You can also sit in front of an aquarium. They are very calming.

You can lead Horace to the water but you can’t make him snorkel

He doesn’t love Snorkeling. He loves wearing the Snorkel and Goggles.

Just keep swimming Horace!

He’s an avid indoorsman… err, horse.

My favorite online underwater camera is this one along the shoreline of downtown Miami, not far from where the cruise ships tie up. Sometimes not much to see but usually full of beautiful tropical fish in their natural environment.
