Just look up where the name “avocado” derives from.

Have some Rocky Mountain oysters instead?

They were once called ‘alligator pears’, probably by people who knew what ‘avocado’ meant.

I’m pretty sure that’s how guacamole came to be…

We got one of those new-fangled fridgalators that will keep an already ripe avocado tasty for a few more days.

judging by the word’s origin, did the original farmers grow a pair?

Part of the reason why I often don’t get avocados unless I plan to immediately turn around and use them for something as part of a special occasion.

Otherwise, I’d probably be making my own guacamole on a regular basis.

Avocados have a unique name heritage. If you highlight the below link then right-click on it you can go to the site..

They grow as a pair. The name seems appropriate.

ROTFL – the essence of avocado is its ephemeral flavor. How often I have cut out the ghastly-tasting brown spot from the flesh of an avocado, two days home from the store, and been left with enough to spread on four chips. :)

Pity the poor farmer who has to wait three to four years for a young avocado tree to bear fruit.

But they are just so good !
