I have a (slightly mad) co-worker who was into actually barefoot barefoot-running (this was before he started spending insane amounts of money on “barefoot shoes” every month).
He was out running along the roadside. It was November, and apparently his feet had gone numb from cold. He cut his left foot down to the bone on something…and just ran home on it, not realising how much he was bleeding.
He ended up with major surgery on his foot and close to three months to heal.
Broke my shoulder falling from a horse, didn’t find out about it until I had a chest x-ray seven years later. Sure explained a lot of neck and head aches. Still hurts forty years later because it healed crooked. They could fix it by breaking it again but what are you going to do?

Slipped while walking to the garage to work on my car. Broke my ankle, didn’t realize it, and walked on it for a week. Oh well.
