I understand the need for it, but I don’t refer to it as “Theftproof glass.” I call it “Sellproof glass.”
Earlier this year I went to WalMart hardware department to get some work gloves. No one would come to unlock the case, so I went Home Depot, they had more variety, found a nice pair for about half the price of the limited stock at WM.
There was a building supply store called Channel out of NY, I believe. Everything was locked up. Only one person seemed to have a key. Lasted about a year and a half. What a pain to shop there.
When I was in the Navy during Vietnam, we pulled into Singapore for liberty and we saw guards outside the doors of banks and jewelry stores armed with submachine guns. We too may be headed in that direction.
