:ↁ Haha! Great, you guys! -So… Black haired Bertha Beebe with a bulging bicep… I feel like I’m probably missing something… can anyone make some further connection? -Wow! Herman has been quite the Casanova in his time! And, I’m sure that each and every one of these stories is absolutely true. Maybe Edna ought to give him a second look? They could double date. Sam & Herman & Lil & Edna ….. Egads! I wish I hadn’t gone there…!
Ok, sorry – I wasn’t clear. I got birth a baby, of course. But I’m asking about the unusual physical characteristics each girl is described with, at the start of the strip. One had big thumbs, then, next one, a cleft in her forehead. Those “wordplayed” into their names. I was asking if any word play could be made of mismatched biceps and Bertha Beebe? - I have a tendency to assume we’re all on the same page, which, of course, isn’t necessarily so. Thanks, Cathy and Mark, for answering my question without adding… “DUH!” You showed admirable restraint! : )

You could also say, if the biceps weren’t mismatched, she would be Bertha BeeBee.
