Honeybees can’t sting more than once because they only use their stingers in defence of the hive, and because the worker bees can’t breed so they can be sacrificed. Most wasps prey on other insects, using their stingers to immobilize the prey; they have to be able to sting many times.

It looks like the wasp took one look at Lil, thought better, and did an about face.
