Here in the wilds of New Mexico (the foothills east of Albuquerque, actually) my Siberian Huskies spend their days cuddling up to various A.C. vents in the tiled kitchen – at night, when the temperature drops into the sixties and seventies, they romp outside.
I do have a male (naturally) that does like to “sun” himself on the turf in the back yard – but that only lasts 5 or 6 minutes at a time – then it’s back to the A.C. and the tiles.
(he’s the same one that almost lays in the fireplace during the wintertime, by the way.)
Chella, the long haired dog lays on the marble in front of the fireplace or the wood dining room floor. Tilly, the short haired dog lays on the floor heater vent in the Winter.
This time of year, Moxie’s favorite spot is the kitchen floor, near the AC vent. At night she sleeps under the kitchen table on the tile instead of on the nice, soft doggie bed right next to her.

Yes, Lunchbox, they tempt me too. I might use a pillow for my head, though….

When I would notice a temperature change in the house I would usually find a big brown" Chessy" laying directly over the AC vent.
