Some decades back, I wired a passive infrared motion sensor aimed a couple of yards before our porch, to an extension cord powering a flicker-light in a jack-o-lantern, and a cassette recorder/player that had screams and growls and such. Adults caught on pretty quickly, and a couple went out and recruited more youngsters to escort to the goose-pimple driveway.
