Dick Tracy by Mike Curtis and Charles Ettinger for November 25, 2008

I like the explosion drawing. Sniffle, sob, I liked ltlBuzz Bomb. He sacrificed himself for the useless Trace-R, the OMST, and the unmanned Dick Tracy.

Well, it’s official. This story’s bombing big time and totally blows. My distain for this is erupting. I hate to be a “buzz” kill, but this is totally lame, and it’s set off my temper.

Yes, I’m in “pun” mode, but there’s no denying that it’s STILL better writing than the crud in this strip as of late.

Hey! Youse guys are jumpin’ to the conclusion that Lil Groinbot did a kamikazi job on MF/BF. Quite possibly, he just blew out a tire. Maybe he survived!

Locher would have won back some respect from me if MF/BF was about to say, “WHAT THE F…” That would have been awesome. More awesome than anything I’ve seen in this strip for years.

Is Ka-thoom a misprint? Shouldn’t it be Ka-boom?

I don’t think the little guy died either, morrow. He has some kind of gun mounted on those treads, and in the middle panel it looks like something went through MF’s middle. It came out the other end, but I’ll bet it blew up his energy source in passing through. Don’t weep yet, margureitem. Hope springs eternal in the comics. Now…we might quibble about the trajectory of that line in panel 2, since it’s horizontal and BB is at MF’s feet…

Ltl Buzz Bomb was moving so fast he nearly tipped over as he zeroed in on the wheels of Magnum-Force. He couldn’t believe that MF wasn’t aware that he was about to be attack. “This stupid walking garbage can is so busy playing ‘spin the bottle’ with those two cops that he doesn’t even know I’m about to put a serious hurt on him”! Ltl Buzz Bomb chuckled as he reached his destination. “Gudbye, Goliath”, he yelled as loud as his programming allowed.

Magnum Force couldn’t decide which police person to destroy first. “Should I light up the older, useless looking one who seems like he’s ready for a casket or the younger, cowardly one who looks like he’s about to have a heart attack”? Just as he was about to make his choice MF heard what sounded like a mosquitoe buzzing down by his wheels. He was totally surprised to see a mini-tank barreling down on him. He only had time too say, “What th…” before he was cut off by a strangely silent explosion.

“KA-THOOM”

*Note…. Naturally the word I wanted to use yesterday was “Sniveling”, not “Swiveling” although I think it does sound funnier. I guess once a stupid Magpie, always a stupid Magpie.

Actually, Traze-R had forgotten to let Lil Buzzbomb out for his morning walk and Lil BB was afflicted with the same malady that Braces had for so long (constipation), and once he did get out, he couldn’t get but 50 feet away before he KA-THOOM’ed all over MF/BF, thereby incapacitating him. Possible.

I’m surprised MF didn’t have a “MicroForce” hiding in his backside cavity…

I hope “Goliath” is just the buzz-bot’s nickname for his target, and not a second unexplained name change.

Normally that wouldn’t even occur to me, but with Locher, well…

Locher couldn’t go “kaboom” or else Billy Mays would be all over him…

I like how MF/BF’s head can swivel all the way around.

I think MF/BF has just been neutered.

I looked in this morning before ducking out the door, and there was nothing I could say. Even now, nearly fifteen hours later, I have a bit of trouble with the words. I had hoped that Ltl BB had something other than a kamikaze run in mind.

Words cannot describe this lunacy.

This strip has sunk to an all-time low. So low,that it may never recover.

At least I get to read what you folks write. Now that’s entertainment!
