Does anyone remember Al Lergy, the nose-blowing villain from about a year ago? He had a henchman named “Tons” as well, plus another one named “Melf.” It wasn’t hard to figure out that they were just “snot” and “flem” (a misspelling of phlegm) backwards.
Don’t know if this is supposed to be the same “Tons” or not. Maybe he’s a temp at “Henchmen R Us.”

“Which repeat panel will be used more? Sunny Dell Acres or Jack’s Casino?”
Good question ! As of today they rank Pari Passu with five depictions each. Tomorrow, Sunday we will have the “repeat” of going home to Gertie and likely the flash back to today’s “foolproof” plan strip. So then, it will stand at SIX all. But the Casino should move ahead as that’s where most of the action will take place.
As you well know, what Gould and Collins called the “CHASE” sequence was a story feature abandoned by Kilian in 1993 and has not been bothered with since.
Maxine, you got me there those reverse names (Tons and Melf) slipped right by me. I’ll have to go back and refresh the old brain.
What I do know (already stated) is, that in the Queen of Diamonds Casino story (early 2007) Locher had a character with an eye-patch and the same name “One-eyed Jack”.
But that sort of thing happened under K and L.
Glad we are sticking to over used cliches. I guess it would be asking too much to go with a different card character than “Jack”. From the looks of the outside, lastname is probably “Squat”

What can this nefarious plan be?
I’m guessing that the other crook’s name is ‘Tons o’ Fun’.

I just realised that Jack looks just like Ted Confey from Mary Worth. So that’s why his finances are ‘entangled’ and why he wants to elope in Vegas…

Jack looks like a Jack on a card in a pack of playing cards.

I wonder if he’s related to Queenie (who ended up in a tight spot!) from a previous story.

Every time you think you make something “foolproof” somebody makes a better fool.

Been catching up on Comic Strip Archive. You can actually see this strip get worse and worse. Sad.
