Panel 1: Hey, a POLICE phone booth. Considering how this strip keeps repeating itself, it must be a RETARDIS (Repeated Endlessly Trite Action and Dumb Investigations Storylines).
JanCinVV said, “Front shoulder???? I only have a right one and a left one.”
Remember, JanCinVV, we’re talking about Mr. 3D here! Take a look at the size of the tattoo. And, don’t forget Tracy has a hand growing from his stomach. This is Twilight Zone stuff!
Those readers of another comic they cannot fool
We see the return of the Mariposa Azul
If you will forgive my little snark
Oh but that was one tedious arc
But with Tracy it’s all action and suspense
Though I have no evidence to offer as defense
But trust me and take my word
When I speak of this humongous ….
There are those who live in this land
To whom the stories are always rich, never bland
They see wonders beyond our scope
Man, they must smoke some righteous ….
I, for one must confess
I feel a certain amount of stress
When I see what has become
Of what is an icon to some
Each day seems to bring about
New events that create a doubt
Whether Tracy can survive beyond this latest story
As the sun sets on his faded glory.
The first clue that 3D is not a human being! The tattoo is on the shoulder of one of his front legs. What kind of creature did Mrs. D’Buckworth marry? A horse? A Great Dane?
Evidently the institution of marriage has liberalized in the future. It’s not even considered remarkable! He just casually refers to your husband’s front shoulder as if there’s nothing unusual about that at all! :O
Why don’t they just use the same picture of the police department or the mansion, etc, as so many other strips do (e.g. Brenda Starr)? Of course, that draws complaints, too.
Wouldn’t it have been better police work to say, “Did your husband have a tatoo? Could you describe it?”
Matt, - Thanks for the clarification. I feel much better. I really do. It stamps you as being ‘principled’.
But, your new strip JOCK and NERD being published that’s fantastic !!* - *Congartulations !
Sorry about the uncertainty on “Methuselah’s Gate”. That was my favorite of the two. It had an ORIGINAL feel to it. - Apollo reminded me too much of a Batman without ears.
Keep up the ‘original’ work. Remember, it took Gould about 13 years to hit the jack-pot !
Matthew! Welcome back! Do good hands, don’t show the same building view fifteen different ways, and remember your plot from day-to-day and you’ll do fine! Good luck!!!

If you’re like Dick, and have a hand growing out of your stomach, you just naturally assume that everybody has a front shoulder like you.
More fun:
Yet another POLICE sign!
And lookit the phone’s keypad:
It appears Locher started to draw the extra three keys that would make a full keypad, but then got tired and left ‘em half drawn.

Yes, the police headquarters logo is different. Another mistake from Locher.

Good point HectorPriam! Also, the tattoo drawing has a lot of detail on it.
