It’s a bit more than a recap; it’s like footnotes for the weekly strip. Now we know how Ed Garcia learned about the Fifth, and why Sam went right to Barney.
Wonderful art today with a Sunday recap that actually enhanced the daily strip. Nice job!
I wonder if the new team has brought any new or returning newspapers to Dick Tracy. The web is great but I would live to see Tracy back in action on paper here in Milwaukee.
Flight suit, I would assume the bootleg dvd’s are just a sideline for Barney. They probably would fit right in with the used and rebuilt (maybe a few are a little “hot”) computers that he deals in. Makes him just the sort of guy that the cops would use as a stoolie.
Yes, it’s a recap. Sometimes it has to be because we are told there are still some papers that just carry Tracy on Sunday. And we had a lot happen this week. Sorry.
@MikeCurtis: Honestly, I don’t mind the recaps at all. In fact, you do a great job of recapping the previous week’s action while still enhancing it with new shades of info we haven’t seen before. (As opposed to the previous regime, who did little more than copy and paste panels from the previous week, and enhanced it with contradictions vs. what we had already seen.)
I agree about the recap, Night and neon. Don’t be sorry, Mike, it was well done, and if you look back at reprints, Sunday has always nearly always been a recap day… before that, I believe in the very earliest days of the strip, the Sunday strip did not even follow the same continuity of the dailys. Also, hopefully, this new team is attracting new readers to Dick Tracy. Maybe these recaps on Sundays attract some casual readers who will eventually become hard core fans like those of us who follow every day. Keep up the good work!
Liz’s appearance is fair, Tbetz, given our first glimpse of her in this new Locher-free universe.
Let’s face it…Liz has never looked as hot as she did in this Wrist GeeNee shot:

Anthony and Tbetz, you will be seeing a LOT more of Lizz soon. In fact, TMS asked us to re-do the panel because we were showing TO MUCH. (grin)

OK guys (and gals), Just because you all missed it I’ll give you a drawing error and a continuity error. Are you ready?
Look at this strip from last Friday

Notice anything about the tea cup Sam is holding in panel #3? Also take note that Sam is holding it with his LEFT hand. I don’t know about you, but trying to hold a teacup on top of a closed fist is sort of hard. You can loop your thumb through the cup handle, but still…. In today’s Sunday panel he is holding the cup normally in his RIGHT hand. OK all, feel bad you missed it?
This brings to question something Shelley is discussing now with Joe and Mike. Is Sam left handed, or ambidextrous? Verdict everyone.
I’m not sure about Sam actually. I’d have to look up some old strips.
Ed Garcia is the name of a friend of mine. I asked him if I could use his name in Tracy, he agreed and then I told him I guarentee he would meet a horrible end. He said he expected that anyway.

What’s with that bare-shoulders number on Lizz? Pretty snazzy for a police detective - they don’t even dress like that on the TV. Hubba-hubba!

I have to disapprove this one. I can’t stand “recap” strips. It’s such a waste of time.

My complaint is I can’t find anything to complain about. I miss the bad ol’ days.
Wonder what it would take to get Locher and his deformed creatures out of retirement.
