Harold Watanabe aka Tojo Yakamoto was one of the best wrestling trainers of all time. He also won the NWA Southern Tag Team Championship with Jerry Lawler in November and December of 1974, if I am reading the chart correctly. Just 2 of the 23 times he won it.
“MOMENT of Truth” ! – It’s the POWER in those DIGGING HANDS, - that choked the life out of Duke then effortlessly dropped the body on the floor. Later into the Sewers
But he’s an OLD man now . . . is he up to Prime Time ?
Late last night I re-read yesterday’s strip, and finally caught Tracy’s comment to Sam: “Thunderchild may be in danger!”THUNDERCHILD? All muscle? In trouble?Hoo-boy! Let the battle begin! (Glad I’ve a ringside seat!)
tojo yamamoto is a LEGEND in the business and has trained numerous wrestlers. nie to see the shout out! side note, he was also, at one time, associated with the four horsemen back in the nwa/wcw days where he served as a manager of the group. i beleive that he either lost a leg in a car accident or passed away from a car accident, i dont recall definitively. i only mention the connection to the four horsemen because at wrestlemania this year.. april 1st… the four hosemen consisting of ric flair, tully blanchard, arn anderson and barry windham are being inducted to the wwe hall fo fame (even tho flair is already in as a singles wrestler)
Let’s not forget besides very strong hands the Mole is fueled by righteous anger. I hope Tracy arrives before he does something that puts him back on the wrong side of the law! He can probably get away with putting the hurt on Thunderchild as a citizen using necessary force to apprehend a criminal, but killing TC would be a no-no.
The guy who was associated with the 4 Horsemen was Hiro Matsuda, not Tojo Yammamoto. And for completeness sake, in the photos posted by Tarry Plaguer, the man in the lower picture with Weingroff and the Mighty Yankees is Nick Gulas, who promoted wrestling four years in the South.
thanks for the corrections stagger lee and dahrkgayte, its appreciated. my pro wrestling illustrated almanac isnt accessible to me here at work.. i dont think i brought it with me.
@Det DanDoneHe lived in Dedham, Mass. Afunny story: Walter was a devout Catholic. When he joined the fraternal order of The Knights Of Columbas he was iniated in Dedham. Everyone was a bit leery about putting him through the rigors of the iniation for fear he would use claw hold on them. LOL
By the way, when you get the chance, go to a history book and see how much Saul Weingeroff looks like Nazi leader Julius Strecher, it’s really uncanny!

He’s coming in the ring to give him a tombstonepile driver.

Yesterday Mike Curtis said, “March 28- special guest star appears in TRACY.” Could this be the reappearance of The Pig on Wheels?

Here we go. I suspect Thunderchild is going to get a taste of his own medicine.

Didn’t the Mole complain to Patty Cure that he was too old to wrestle?

Maybe many of Tracy’s villians are actually Mutants. Like the X-men of their day!!

A Nazi Aryan superman and a Jew boy lookalike? That’s ironic enough for me!
