Good Morning Detectives!Yep, Tracy played it straight, Honeymoon deserved it. And we get a long-awaited Moon Maid sighting, even if only by flashback.

Oh, and Day-Day2001, her mask can probably replicate that heavy breathing. And if she’s indeed disfigured, she might even SOUND like DV too!

Nicely done, with a wistful Moon Maid sighting, too. And let’s give credit to the colorist: Mysta has red fingernails, and Dick does not!

Wow, this is developing nicely. next step will be to advance the ominous measles.

I agree, the story is advancing at a good pace. And the table is set for Measles to visit the Plentys, and for You Know Who to visit….?And to Day-Day2001 — Bwahahah! Good one!

Moon Maid! JerryH will be pleased. I like Tracy’s emotional response. After so many years, he’s still devastated by what happened. And nice touch with Honeymoon seeming to comfort him in panel three.

Yes, Honeymoon took it very well, and Tracy was right on. Good to see the trust and bond between these two.

Gotta love Honeymoon, and how she takes this “man to man” talk. It seems to have been harder on Tracy, reliving those moments in his memory. The only thing he didn’t address is the nagging doubts that the “Moon Maid sightings” have raised.

Is the first panel a redo or a paste-up of a Rick Fletcher panel?

Bit of a contradiction here !It could be that Tracy has ’ rephrased ’ HIS recollection (?) of the explosion - in a manner to CONVINCE * – Honeymoon* that -"your Mother Mystra was in the Car when it exploded. I SAW it all ! . . . "- He didn’t " SEE " the event . . . he was SLEEPING (‘ZZZ- ZZ’) on a Couch inside, when the BOMB exploded. - – - The sound woke him up ! He sat up, and blurted out - – - " Ye Gods " !(Sun 8-6-78 and Mon 8-7-78)-Moon Maid was depicted (as above) starting a car = but, there’s no certainty she was IN Tracy’s car when the bomb there - ‘WENT OFF’.Although that may have been the original intention ! She may have been starting another Car. when inadvertently the bomb in a nearby car - exploded ! ?This leaves a Writer some " elbow room " to construct a way to have her survive, were he to SO inclined !In fact, MM’s lower face “bandages”(?) LENDS itself to that sort of ’ explanation ’ ! ?

Good morning. The flashback sequence in the 1st panel is awesome.

A nice recreation of the Fletcher artwork, complete with his distinctive lips and hands. Dick’s explanation isn’t completely accurate and a bit misleading (yes, I guess Junior could have died that day but it seems unlikely) but I suspect the simplicity is for both Honeymoon’s and the general reader’s benefit.

Another stellar strip by Team Tracy. One can only wonder when next we’ll see Moon Maid and Honeymoon on the same day. In the meantime, Sparkle is in grave danger. The tension mounts…

Rare false note on the emotional interplay (& this is coming straight off the expertly crafted silent communication ‘tween Tracy & Junior the other day). Yes, I realize Tracy must feel some sense of survivor’s guilt re. Moon Maid’s death…but panel #2 feels forced to me. The hand covering the face pose is simultaneously too broad a gesture for Tracy & also a bit of a deflection…the latter especially off-kilter given that in the next panel Honeymoon thanks Tracy for the candor. Just the director in me, but replace Panel #2 w/ more subtle, more in-character expression (but Tracy maintaining eye contact) & it’d work better.

I agree, Gweedo, Honeymoon’s such a cutie. And I’m surprised no one’s complained about the color of her nails! :)

Also, I hope you’re right that Mysta is back for good. Love seeing her all dolled up and ready for action! Plus there would be plenty of delicious dramatic angles to explore with Junior, Sparkle, and Honeymoon. And who knows, we might even get to see her use Mjölnir again!

Good work, gentlemen. Handing that subject had to be done right. Your copy (or copy/paste from the original panel) was a good touch.

Don’t give me any CREDIT * – Gweedo !*-It’s all DUE to Mike Curtis (with a suggestion from Jim Doherty ?) - with Tracy as a ‘Uniformed Officer ’ before he was a Detective. A " professional " JOB !Made me realize how EASY it can be to change comic strip history as long as you add to what’s there and don’t contradict any “clear” facts.More power to Mike Curtis !

ok so here’s a storyline related question for he knowledgable of the group…..i was googling pics of torcher and i found a profile for him on the tracy wiki-thingee… but there were a ton fo thumbnails at the bottom so i just spent about 25 minutes looking thru them.. can someone tell me ewxactly who POLLYANNA is/was and what happened to her? if she quit the smoking and changed her hairstyle, shes a RINGER for moon maid… antennna and all!

We must remember that Moon Maid, like our favorite Gallifreyan, is not human. Who knows what the exact life (and death) cycle of the natives of luna actually is like?

I missed the series on the bombing of Mysta. Who was the enemy that put the bomb in the car? Was he/she captured?

It bears repeating that Moon Maid is not human. Gould never dealt with the physiology of the Moon people. While we witnessed a variety of powers possessed by Moon Maid, we have no knowledge of what constitutes death or what regenerative powers may exist in Moon people. Does destruction of the body mean the end of life? Could there be, say, an “essence crystal” or some such fantastical element of Moon people that we never knew of? Barriers to death or pathways to regeneration (variations on what humans might call “accelerated cloning”) are common in sci-fi. Given the many attempts on Moon Maid’s life, did her powerful father, the Governor, ever have a security detail assigned to his daughter? While I admit I am biased—I want Moon Maid permanently back in the world of DT, I favor rich, audacious possibilities over timid literalism (a human would be dead, so she must be dead). I strongly suspect that Team Tracy will dazzle us, rather than leave us with an angry clone that is Moon Maid in appearance only. Time will tell…

“Methinks the lady doth protest too much.” Well, Matthew, StillDePutz sure supports you and pretty much mimics you. I’m sure you reported him to GC, and maybe included him in your lawsuit? And why does he refer to events of the past when his persona #1 wasn’t around 3 years ago? He remembers Sparky77, Ludwig, the original BB…… amazing! I need him to give me six numbers for Saturday, and be sure to tell me the Powerball number.

I agree with any theory that brings Moon Maid back for good. The original didn’t die? Good! A clone? Good enough!P.S. Any theory out there that might bring Pollyanna back? Yowsah!

Back to today’s strip: very strong, emotional stuff. This is an important part of this comic that is too easy to leave out in today’s shortened story format. Good job!

Got a question… I’ve noticed a lot of supposition that Mysta might have survived the blast. How about this theory I’ve seen bandied about? Notta Chin Chillar as the Moon Maid, with gloves that can duplicate Moon Maid’s powers. She may be in a delusional state, thanks to Retik and the mystery woman, and truly believes she is Mysta. Again, just another theory.

I like reading these conversations about Mysta. Tells me I’m not the only one who loved her as a kid, and is still crazy about her now.
