I like all the little subplots, the fact that some of them get left unfinished is sort of exciting, as you never can be sure how things will work out. Kind of suspenseful. Life is that way, there aren’t always answers….
@JerryH (from yesterday): “Yeah, I remember Pollyanna now, too. Wow, she was as sexy if not more so than Moon Maid.”Yeah, I liked Pollyanna when I was young. The thing that grabbed my attention was all that hair(!) and how it covered most of her face. Her signature look. Later, when she dressed up like Moon Maid, I have to admit I started noticing more than her hair! → Pollyanna like MM
I think “Crypto” refers to Cryptography, which is the science of coding and uncoding messages. The numbers on his glasses, his overall professorial air, and his high opinion of his own intelligence suggest to me that this is a high-tech villian, working in cybercrime.
From yesterday: the question about the door knob. I found a B&W rendering of the strip on the Houston Chronicle site, and you all were correct – the colorist here at GC messed us up by making it look like the horizontal line under the knob was the floor line, but it is not. There is a throw-rug on the actual floor, which puts the knob in proper perspective.
I can’t remember seeing an arc start off quite like this; I’m sure it will blossom into a full-blown crime though! Gould was pretty predictable; Team Tracy is very successful in playing with our minds. And, they usually win!
Thanks for the pic, Willy007 (oink!). At least Pollyanna died instantly. The Painted Lady (1969), the only Gould woman to wear less than Mysta & Pollyanna, had a rougher exit.
That is a “Contempra Phone” they were designed in Canada and went on the market here around 1967; mind you, I wasn’t aware that any were sold in the USA

Mr.13?

I am really liking this character so far. Whoever he is, he has tons of personality, not to mention arrogance.

He makes me think of Roger C Carmel, player of Harry Mudd.

Hmm. I still don’t “get” Mr. 13 and his Smart Dog. But I suspect he is in some way up to no good….

What is it with #13’s teeth? Is he some kind of rodent, like a beaver or gopher?
Chief Patton almost 12 years ago
Yeah, he does look a little rodent-like in panel two. I think I’m going to like this Puzzler guy or whoever he is.
