Finally they’re coming off!

It will end up being 291 days since we first saw Moon Maid in the mask (August 2) until it finally came off. Assuming it comes off tomorrow? Talk about building suspense!

Well, like I said, Mike may have got the date confused in his later post. It would seem that a Sunday strip would be a better choice to do it. I checked all Mike’s posts from April 29th to today and he hasn’t made a change in the date that I can find.

It’s unlikely that a bandage would stay on that long without being changed. If the doctor never changed the bandage or checked on the progress of a wound, he is not much of a doctor. It’s possible he never showed Moon Maid, I suppose, but he would know.

First Sunday then Monday as kind of a recap? Sounds likely to me.

Just curious. How did she eat with bandages covering the lower half of her face? There’s no mouth hole.

Be thankful Locher is longer at this because tomorrow’s comic would just be a recap!

Why do I expect the doctors to look in terror and then —

“The suspense is killing me…”Boy, isn’t it? Gotta hand it to Curtis and Staton. They know how to build anticipation. At least one reason we’re so amped for this story is because of that cute little mask she’s been wearing. I haven’t experienced this “dying to find out what happens tomorrow” feeling since I read Gould as a kid!

dr sail is gonna slip and end up cutting off moon maid lite’s nose.. then she’ll have to remain bandaged for ANOTHER 8-12 months lol :)

Wait. With her mouth covered all this time, how does she eat giant escargot?

Her hair doesn’t really look green to me. I suppose it does have a slight greenish tinge, which is normal in fluorescent lighting, but if it really looks green to you, your monitor may need adjusting.

I’ve got to believe MM’s bandage has been changed, hopefully daily. Can you imagine how a cloth covering your mouth would look and feel after a day of talking and sleeping (maybe moon people don’t drool in their sleep?) not to mention eating and drinking. In addition, sometimes the bandage is white and sometimes it is purple to match her gloves and boots; a bandage would be white. I never thought it looked so much like a bandage, which should fit fairly snugly, but more like a mask that serves no purpose other than to disguise the wearer, not help in the healing process.

And as for coloring, I believe we all concur that the coloring we see in the Sunday strips is what the coloring should be. I just looked back and the last time we saw MM in a Sunday strip was May 5. Her hair is most distinctly yellow and has no white highlights or greenish-yellow lowlights. Her horns are flesh colored except for the round tips which are blue and sending out blue flashes that reflect as blue on the top of her hair. Her mask, gloves, and boots are all what I’d describe as a slate blue, not purple. Now, I admit, as I age I have trouble with distinguishing blues but the color of the mask, gloves, and boots of May 5 are definitely not the same as the colors shown in today’s strip.

My preference is for the coloring shown In the strip Willy07 posted…yellow hair, pink horns and tips (she is not flashing electricity or whatever it is) and the purple mask that goes with her gloves and boots.
