Very cleverly done, Tracy. Recognizing Nellie’s crush, instead of giving her the brush-off, he"casually" (on purpose, of course) mentions that he has a granddaughter and let’s Nellie reject him as being “too old” for her. The other salient point for me today is that Honeymoon refers without any hesitation or confusion to Sparkle as “my Mom.” Take that mk. 2, Clone-Moon Maid!
ya know, TECHNICALLY tracy could have adopted junior when he (junior) was only around ten.. and if tracy was around 25 at the time… fast forward to "today"and junior is only in his 30’s… then its only been 20 years which would make tracy about 55… honeymoon is 12 so junior would have been about 18 or 19 when he married moon maid.. heck even if he was 21 at the time, tracy would have been 36…. so its conceivable that tracy.. in “tracytime” isnt much older than early 50’s… right?
Honeymoon thanks George Wheaton for taking care of her mom..60sFan says, “Which one?”.Sisyphos says, “Take that mk. 2, Clone Moon Maid!”.Sisyphos assumes, of course, that Honeymoon meant Sparkle, which is a pretty good assumption because Mysta’s identity hasn’t been revealed to anyone, readers or the Tracy-verse! Not sure what Sisyphos meant by “mk. 2,” perhaps a typo?.But what I wanted to call attention to is what I would consider a “tipping point” or “critical mass” in this Moon Maid mess: “Take that…Clone Moon Maid!” is starting to sound hostile..It’s not the first time people have gone off on Mysta. And Sisyphos is far from alone in this..Nor do I wish to deny him (or anyone’s) opinions for or against Mysta. Rather, I take this as an example of the problems a fake Moon Maid will have, if this is what Mike and Joe have lined up for us come the end of September. That is, I expect the same kind of rejection by characters of the Tracy-verse as Mysta is already getting from a select number of readers..By the by, great comments yesterday by Willy007. Clearly, Mysta is indeed a compelling character, as judged by comments both for and against her. Neutrality does not become her..So far, we have no evidence to support a clone Moon Maid. But, we also have no evidence of Mysta having survived the car bomb. This was the crux of Willy007’s comments, yesterday..Becoming detached from the story line for a moment, may I suggest the following: I actually find myself in agreement with something tsull2121 said a while back. However, I will add a condition, which is this: If Mysta turns out to be anything other than the survivor of the car bomb, she will be nothing more than, as tsull2121 said, “a laboratory experiment gone awry.”.This is, I believe, the central problem developing in the continuing story of Mysta, the Moon Maid..Of course, I still vote that this is the “real deal” Mysta the Moon Maid. For the above reasons, I don’t think there is much choice for Mike and Joe; if Mysta turns out to be any kind of a fake, and a clone would still be a fake, I just don’t see her surviving as a character in the Tracy-verse.
Still Da Man!: I haven’t forgotten you. You asked me a question and I intend to answer it. But I wish to do so off-line, so as not to turn the Dick Tracy board into a contentious religious debate.
Junior’s age was given in the strip early on. He met Tracy when he was nine. Not sure when the adoption happened (or if there even was a formal adoption). He’d been called nothing but “Kid” for so long that he didn’t remember his real name, so he named himself “Dick Tracy, Junior.” It was only later that he met his real father and learned his name was Jackie Steele.
JPuzzleWhiz: I think I read that comment of yours about “teleportation” a while back when you first posted it. I liked it then; I like it even more now..If this Mysta is the “real deal,” which I sincerely hope that she is, there has to be an explanation as to how she survived the car bomb, where she was all this time, and why she wasn’t heard from since then..tsull2121 and others have done a great job of knocking down the number of years since the car bomb. I’m guessing that, in Tracy years, it’s been far less than a decade, probably only a few years. Which, if the car bomb had not been used as a plot device, might have been insufficient time for the Tracy clan and the coroner to have had Mysta declared “legally dead.”.And tsull2121 may have said it best when he speculated that there was no body in Mysta’s tomb, the expectation that, with the blast, there was no body left to bury! And I’m already figuring a plot line after September as the MCU goes after perhaps a crooked coroner who allowed Mysta’s body to be acquired by quacks Sail and Ghote! (Assuming Mysta is real, of course). It would be a decent way to re-introduce Mysta, the Moon Maid, without an awful lot of sci-fi hocus-pocus. I mean, other than her original existence was an awful lot of sci-fi hocus-pocus!.I think what Gould did back in the sixties was all in good fun. But today, with all the talk about cloning, regeneration, stem cells, implanted memories, I just don’t know just how “out there” Mike and Joe want to go. I will say, so far, they are rather “measured” in their approach to sci-fi – so far, they seem to be eliminating regular trips to the moon, for good guys and bad, with the revelation that the moon colony is gone!.In the end, Mike and Joe hold the cards as to who Mysta really is, and so far, they aren’t showing them to us!
SDP, you really need to find something to do with your time. You remind me of that lonely guy out in the middle of the lake in a boat with ten lines baited and cast all around. And, nary a nibble. So you start yelling at the fish!

One thing we don’t know yet: Sparkle remembers who she is, but what is the last thing she remembers before being at the Wheaton farm?
