Commissioner is comfortable in his well-appointed lairNot used to being questioned, very few would think to dare. One of the few comes into view: a detective none too pleasedNot here to debate or flatter, but to take back what was seized.Kolossal now the latest mug to have his head stove inSix others came before him, the dead all broken men.Thoroughbreds are marvels, their form is wed to purposeAt half a ton, bred to run, they inspire and amaze us.To use a horse for murder is a despicable perversionTracy’s taking over now, investigation no diversion.Leave it to the MCU, justice shall be served somehowTabby has a debt to pay, his bill has come due now.
And, before anyone states that Tracy doesn’t have the authority, remember that this is Tracyworld… Not the Real world! Mike & Joe can make up the rules as they go along!
And, finally tonight, (as I like to think of us all as the DT FAMILY of posters, despite our differences), I repeat what I said late last night: " Congratulations to your son, avenger09! You have every right to be proud!" (on his graduation).
In the complicated, corruption-ridden world of Tracy’s Crook County, to see a Chief of Detectives of the big city transfer cases from a crooked county commissioner’s crooked investigator to his own MCU is neither surprising nor impossible. Rules are pretty much just made up to suit the circumstances, and nobody bats an eye…. It’s all about power, and Tabby Angus’s is on the wane. With any luck, Ed Rosato’s, too.
Ah, today takes me back to when I was in high school and gave “Mr. Scott” a Mothers Day card. (Have a great day, Mother.) Glad I was on his good side… And Pquod, guess I’m going to just have to cut and paste “Good job” to use over and over again.
I like the way this complex story is evolving. We’ve been to Kolossal Studios and the set of The Moon Maid film, to Wilcox Downs and now to the office of County Commissioner Ed Rosato. Tracy has done some digging and takes charge of the investigation into Tabby’s dirty deeds. More impressive storytelling from Mr. Curtis, with art to match from Mr. Staton. Exceptional use of light and shadow (again) today. Tracy is all business. Gould was also good at using dynamic lighting:..Thanks to Neil Wick, Rene Tray, Morrow, coldsooner, JPuzzleWhiz and mzkdad for the encouraging words. Much appreciated!.Good Though! is the name of Utah Phillips’ 1973 album, the title of which comes from the witty ditty, “Moose Turd Pie.”
Fantastic art!Joe’s Tracy is pure film noir – the tough guy in shadows looming over the desk. But the icing on the cake is the subtle coloring. Look at the skyline in panels 2 and 5!And the script is great stuff, too!
My guess is Commissioner Rosato is going to put in an emergency phone call to Venus and The Apparatus. I fully expect Tabby Angus to wind up like Dutch Schultz.
“Jim Doherty won’t stop until every railroad cop in history has been celebrated.”Let’s hope you’re right, gleeb! Jim’s Sunday contributions are very informative!

As Eric Cartman would say:
This is most “detectivey”-looking that Dick Tracy has been recently. It looks like something Sherlock Holmes might do.

I’m wondering if Patton phoned someone higher up and called in a few chits to have those cases transferred back to MCU?

I was wondering when Tracy would lay down the Law here. Watch out Blackhearts. That Scottish cat is about to be dogged and then you will be next.

I love how the crooks here just assume they have a foolproof plan that will fool Dick Tracy. This should fix Tabby just right.

Commissioner is comfortable in his well-appointed lair
Not used to being questioned, very few would think to dare.
One of the few comes into view: a detective none too pleased
Not here to debate or flatter, but to take back what was seized.
Kolossal now the latest mug to have his head stove in
Six others came before him, the dead all broken men.
Thoroughbreds are marvels, their form is wed to purpose
At half a ton, bred to run, they inspire and amaze us.
To use a horse for murder is a despicable perversion
Tracy’s taking over now, investigation no diversion.
Leave it to the MCU, justice shall be served somehow
Tabby has a debt to pay, his bill has come due now.
