So is it down to either Annie gets Tracy away from the hypnotic voice and he saves the day, or outside forces rescue him again? Tough call……

Just what we’ve been saying: if space travel was bad, time travel is worse, but Diet doesn’t at all deny that’s what he is working on. His previous “Heh” didn’t convince me much.

The comic panels for the past two days have been the best in two or three weeks.

So they all decipher the same clues that Tracy did and they all go to the island in Michigan bay and end up in “1944” under the same spell. Sam turns into a patrolman and walks a beat with Tracy, Lizz becomes a meter maid or something since they didn’t allow women cops back then, and Lee…well who knows. Annie will then have to rescue all of them from the Belinda spell. lol

Has Sam stopped smoking?

Yeah, Diet Smith is sweating. Yesterday, Daddy Warbucks got all up in his face, and today Sam Catchem comes as close to losing his temper at him as I can recall him ever doing! The whole “space” thing was nothing but a can of worms, and now we have worry about temporal wormholes! No wonder we switch scenes to Lee Ebony and Tess in the last panel!

Well if Sam did stop smoking that might explain his temper…

Well, at least Sam has Tracy’s Wrist Wizard back. I wonder if the updates do anything interesting. If they do, Sam’s probably not in the mood for tutorials on the new capabilities.

the only good thing about todays strip is that we get to see Lee Ebony.. how long will it take til either she or tess opens up the computer and sees the email from tracy? i’m guessing at LEAST another three weeks! :)

oh, and another thing.. not for nothin, but when this debacle is all wrapped up, pat should be calling tracy on the carpet for his inappropriate actions during a case.. or at least IAB should be notified.

as chief of detectives, he should have left better notice as to where he was going… even a call to the “front desk” in the middle of the night to leave word for pat would have sufficed.

In this instance, Diet represents the worst part of the tycoon businessman in my eyes….not in the search for the next money-making whizbanger, but inventing things without seemingly a care about the practical consequences that Sam picked up on so quickly…if it can be used, it will also be quickly misused.

Chapter 6.

“Please fasten your seatbelt and place your head down as low as you can”! Tracy barely heard what the stewardess said, instead taking a quick scan of who was on this flight. “Maybe about fifteen people tops, including the flight crew”. He quickly concluded. All the passengers seemed to be employees of Warbucks International but no one of particular importance. “Something seems wrong about the way that engine exploded like that”. He pondered the possibility that someone sabotaged the plane to bring it down, but why? “Mr. Tracy, I must ask you to fasten your seat beat and place your head as low as you can. The pilot is going to try an emergency landing in a few minutes but it might be a little rough”. Tracy, noticing the fear on the stewardess face smiled while reassuring her that everything would turn out alright. “If only I could convince myself that we’ll get through this”, he sighed. Tracy began thinking of Tess and how much he loved her. He felt pangs of sorrow rising up in him when he thought about how devastated she’d be over this tragedy. “Snap out of it Dick, you need all your strength and focus to get out of this”, he said out loud as he demanded himself to push any thought of defeat from his mind.Meanwhile, It took about 20 excruciating long minutes for the cab to get to the airport. Handing the driver a couple of twenties and telling him to keep the change, Annie leaped out of the cab and ran towards the nearest terminal. “Golly, there’s no way to know who’s on the plane. It could be Daddy, Amelia or anyone else”! She worriedly thought as she saw the lights of all the emergency vehicles that were prepared for the worst. “At least it’s easy to tell what runway the plane’s gonna try to land on”! She grimly realized while trying to figure out a way to get close enough to the runway to see if the plane landed safely. “It’s not like one of “Daddy’s” planes to have mechanical or engine problems”, she angrily thought when she remembered what Tom Short told her when he explained how Red Rover was brought down due to a sabotage that was never solved. “Could the same people who got to Red Rover in an attempt to kill “Daddy” somehow manage to sabotage the plane”? She knew that had to be a possibility. Her attention was quickly diverted upward towards her right when she heard a loud roar come from up above. “It’s the plane”! She shouted out loud, fear welling up in her. She quickly noticed the black smoke coming out of one of the engines which she knew couldn’t be good. Knowing that there was nothing she could do except wait to see what happened in the next few minutes, Annie found herself saying a prayer for the plane to land safely, an act that surprising brought her an immediate sense of peace and calmness. Tracy raised his head to snatch a quick glance at where they were and was shocked to see the runway mere feet below them. “THIS IS IT! He shouted while bracing himself for what he hoped would be a safe landing. A shout of “HERE SHE COMES”! Brought her back to awareness regarding the plane which seemed mere seconds away from landing. “It looks like it’s wobbling way too much”, Annie feared right at the moment the front wheel of the plane touched the runway.Tracy suddenly felt a large jot that almost knocked him out of his seat.Then everything went dark..

That’s where Mike got the story. His future self appeared and gave him the completed script. Saves a lot of work – he just has to remember to make that delivery later on.

Man oh man!! I can’t believe I didn’t hear the alarm clock this morning! Dag-nab-it!!! Hope I didn’t miss anything important in today’s Annie strip. SIGH, THANK GOODNESS!!! Nothing new has taken place. Still yakking about time travel and talking about THE LETTER! Guess I can relax!!

I’m really enjoying this.Sunday’s Lum and Abner comedy relief, followed by the two zillionaires arguing (great stuff) and Sam blowing up.

The argument confirmed that time travel is what’s being developed, and raised the possibility that someone else has already mastered it.

I’m not surprised Lizz hasn’t found the e-mail.I check mine once a week (maybe), and I wouldn’t think of it if there was an emergency.

Meanwhile we’ll all be glued to our screens tomorrow at 04:45. To Be Continued..

And I guess if Big Daddy Warbucks also follows in Tracy’s footsteps and ends up at Simmon’s Corner under the Belinda spell, he could get a job as maitre de at the local restaurant, since he already comes with a tuxedo.

Diet looks downright flustered. After the cool performance he put on when he lost the moon coupe, I would have expected him to be a little slicker.

Oh, it’s that 4:45. I should have thought of that.

Does anyone remember a character complaining about the space flights before Sam’s comments today?

Sometime in June, it was stated in the comic strip that the mysterious island belonged to the U.S. government, but was now leased to private industry (or words to that effect.) Might it be possible that “private industry” is one of either Diet Smith’s or Daddy Warbucks’s industries? Just asking. Any thoughts?
