My bet is Axel still thinks Tracy is under his spell, since he hasn’t acted like he knows who Axel is and tried to arrest him.

Good morning, all. Sydney’s going to be confused that Simmons Corners even has phone lines. I wonder what exactly it is that Axel has in mind. I suppose he doesn’t have a car. I’m pretty sure he thinks that Tracy is still under the spell. Why wouldn’t he?

Yeah, like “take no prisoners” from the guys responsible for bringing down the phone lines. I requires a certain amount of “spin” to refer to them as a “repair crew.”

Love the way Tracy says “we’ll” go check it out. Keeps. his cover and gets Axel to a place the good guys are waiting.

Why not? The guys who came in and saved the day on probably half the hit records of the mid/late 60’s were called the “Wrecking Crew.”

Why doesn’t Tracy just go ahead and arrest Axel?

As long as Tracy doesn’t wake up in a hospital bed, his head covered in bandages as it was when he woke and saw Annie. Inconsistencies? Hah. David Winter got away with it on Sopranos, and don’t ask about Lost. If the epic lasts long enough, and this one surely did, how would one expect the authors to remember every thing + the kitchen sink they’ve thrown out. Some may be disappointed.

Mike Curtis posted on the Dick Tracy Fan Club ,“The ANNIE story ends October 9, and the next two weeks are catchups on what’s been going on with various cast members.”

Of course, Tracy knows that Axel is not on the level, although apparently Axel doesn’t know he knows. But, wouldn’t it appear odd that the town newspaper editor was in charge of telephone line crews, etc.? Unless he was also the town mayor, or something, but that hasn’t been suggested. I guess all that could be covered by the mass hypnosis, maybe.

Clever, Tracy! “We” are going out, voluntarily. Axel again shows he is but a subaltern, a villain of little brain indeed. The real issue (aside from all the technical foofa such as Belinda and how “Simmons Corners” was kept secret) is, who is behind Axel and using him—who is the master puppeteer?

Nah, I think the people of Ferguson are mad because an unarmed black man with his hands up in the air was shot multiple times until he was dead by white cops.Hmm, maybe that’s what Tracy should do, take out his service piece and empty it into Axel and then ask questions later. But the story would pretty much be over then so I guess not.

Kent Hartman’s book on The Wrecking Crew is quite good. I’ve had the good fortune to see Leon Russell and Mac Rebennack (Dr. John) perform on multiple occasions. Also Jim Keltner in Dylan’s band. The goods, indeed!
