Mr. Blowtop needs a good old fashion slapping for being so rude and disrespectful, first of all to Dick Tracy and secondly for yelling at him and blowing smoke all over a non smoker.
Woo gosh! That Blowtop sure has a short fuse! And he will be back in the slam, if he survives the Coming Showdown. Tracy is showing admirable restraint in the face of this massive disrespect from a petty thug.
Rightwingmoron, Gweedo, the rest of the posters and I fit that profile, as well! Thank you; thank you, and thank you! You have good taste after all!.
Thank you Morrow. I do have a follow-up question for you; How does one define “Good Taste?” Is it when you constantly call me a Troll who lives under a bridge, is that in “Good Taste?” Is it when Papa OB stalks me on the comments board just waiting for an opportunity to post some misspelled attempt at a sarcastic reply? Is that in ”Good Taste”? Just wondering.
Panel 2 is stunning in its visual and verbal display of Blowtop’s raw, honest emotions. He is in deep sorrow and in his warped mind honestly blames Tracy. You can almost feel sorry for him and I wonder if Dick has some compassion for him as well. Bravo!
Re: The extra thick ink lines some have been noticing.I am not up on the latest technology concerning inking, but I do know that thick lines were a tradition of Gould’s Dick Tracy for many, many years. In the mid 50s he experimented with a thinner line for a time, and one of the drawbacks was that the art did not reproduce as well. At least that is true of the IDW re-print series, where details dropped out during that period of his art. I prefer the bolder lines myself.
I’m “OLD SCHOOL” NG… the way i was taught (since i was 6 years old at least up until i was 18) was drawing using your HANDS not a computer program.
yeh, it’s “easier” and “quicker” to use the computer programs, but i STILL consider it cheating because there’s really no effort in clicking and pointing and altering images as opposed to creating it “genuinely”
give me a sheet of paper, a series of pencils, and a gum eraser and i’m a happy boy
Hey Tracy fans, today is the 50th anniversary of one,of the best Dick Tracy cartoons ever. You know, the crossover with Tracy and Mr. Magoo and Tracy gets Magoo to infiltrate Pruneface Pruneface’s gang which consisted of favoriFlattop, Mumbles, Itchy, The Brow, The Mole and Oodles. Best Tracy cartoon ever right? Woo Gosh!

Gee, why did Blowtop get that nickname? It’s not like he has a volcanic temper or anything.

I like Blowtop. He reminds me of…basically everyone in my family. Except me, naturally.
