There are definitely differences between the two crimes, the apparent and still-unexplained Debris Field from the present-day heist being one of ’em.

Congratulations on the nomination. Yes, it is an honour in itself, and I have to say that your set rendering looks great.

Well, I suppose that they actually did steal the gold—it’s just that they didn’t get to take it very far from where they stole it. Obviously, Jimmy Choo Shooz will want to avoid making such a mistake.

So, they had another train car on another track in another tunnel, leading to the lake. This is the part that we don’t know whether Jimmy’s crew copied or not. All we know is that no-one has found the gold car (that we’ve heard of so far) and that Jimmy’s accomplice said that the gold had been transferred (to a another train?, to a boat?, to some other vehicle?) and was ready to ship out of state. That means it hadn’t left yet, I guess. Why “out of state” I wonder.

Might be jurisdictional concerns, or that the gold is much too “hot” to fence there.

Once it’s been transported “out of state,” tracing it back to the robbery should prove all the more difficult.

As I’d mentioned once or twice, the “Speed Racer” series boasted a multi-part episode which had a rather unique take on gold smuggling.

The Clue Club crime I mentioned previously fits better. In fact, there are so many differences I fail to see how this is a “Copycat crime”.

If there wasn’t some kind of gold recovery by the Ongo crew, his book is just puffery for a failure.Transporting Jimmy’s loot “out of state” probably is meant to complicate police efforts but does then call for FBI intervention: remember, this gold is supposed to belong to a foreign government, send up to the US for safekeeping [largely irrelevant at this point but perhaps still of interest, the Real Life 1924 Rondout, Illinois, heist gang, the Newton Gang, was a Texas bunch, out of Uvalde County in south-central Texas, even today rather sparsely inhabited].

I’d like for my friends here (if I may call the ones that have shown me affection that) to understand a few things about stupid ole me. First of all you do not have to read this. I am a sensitive person that does not want to inflict any sort of aggravation on anyone. Have not always been a nice guy. I don’t recall bashing Dick Locker except for his way of drawing hands. I started reading D.T. just before the storm of the century episode. .That’s when BillThompson, Margueritem, Wnderwrthg (wonder warthog) ((the first poet)), Flightsuit, Morrow, BASSMANBOB, Safeway674, rightwingmoron, billdi, Sydney Phillips, Michael McMillan, CougarAllen, Radish. MikieJ (the Canadian), Radish, Sisyphos, Nvash, Capndunzzi, IgoPogo4, Ray Toler and Night_Gaunt49 were regular posters here. Some of the regulars back then and now still are include Vista Bill, david42, Ken in Ohio, tsull2121, Gweedo, david42 and our classic poet Pequod77. The later folks seem to be a little thicker skinned than the former group, because they are still here. I admire you all for your resilience and perseverance. .I have said some things in bad taste, hurt some feelings and have been rude at times. And for that I sincerely apologize and ask for forgiveness. I repent of that but the problem is I still have a hard time of forgiving myself. I am an ordained minister and wish to have no fellowship with darkness. Way back when I was young I did inflict much emotional and physical pain. And did so kind of recently as well; I am truly sorry for that. .But the insults, bashing critical statements and comments have driven some away. This is and was supposed to be fun and in good taste but there are a few that get some sort of pleasure out of hurting feelings, making insults and being just plain rude then saying it’s all just in fun. All the while making references to Jesus Christ and Christianity. Please forgive me for judging. I know that is wrong and a bad reflection on God. That is the last thing that I want to do.. I know that there is nothing saying that we have to be here and do this, but I personally like being part of this and for the most part enjoy being here and really like the heck out of ALL of you. I have never asked for sympathy but at an all time low several of you fine people came threw and lifted the old guy right back up. And did it out of a simple kind, sincere and caring spirit. Religious or not, like it or not that is so godly it gave me chills..Man, oh man I do not want to stop this fellowship and fun, but I am not near as thick skinned as I should be. Some of my Dick Tracy friends and Facebook friends will read this and understand what I am trying to say and do here, while others may care less, and that’s okay too. The word says “… he that knows to do good and does it not to him it is a sin …”

That is what is in my heart and I wanted to share it. In the future I will not jump up on the soapbox and do this again. I hope that you all are okay with this. After venting like this I think that I can take the criticism for doing it from the ones that lash out. But the ones that consider me a friend and understand, thanks so much. Grammar & spelling aren’t some of my strong points so please forgive me for that.

On today’s revelation in the strip: The current crime (according to the newspaper headline and Owen’s remarks) involves the whole train car disappearing, not just a manual off-loading of the gold from the car. And we still don’t know what happened to the locomotive and the rest of the train.

At any rate, I don’t think that the flashback is over. I believe that there is more of the historical story to tell.

Earlier this year, they finally released the entire Adam West-Burt Ward series on DVD. i agree NG49, but do we REALLY need see 5 days of tracy reading a book that’s 90 years old to figure out what to do next?

A Google search for "400 troy ounces in pounds" tells me 400 troy ounces = 27.4285714 pounds, so that agrees with what I said before. The purity of the gold (and therefore the actual amount of gold content) is allowed to vary slightly.

When I installed Chrome, it just magically appeared. I just supposed that ABP was packaged with it. Maybe you have to have the right version of Chrome. The version I’m using is 42.0.2311.90 m.

I’ve had free samples at a winery, though my most recent tour charged for the tour than included the free samples. I’ve never toured a brewery, though I think I got a free beer sample at Seaworld Orlando which is, or was, owned by Anheuser-Busch.
