I noticed an interesting detail. Back on November 21, 2015 we were were told that there were NO threateding notes until AFTER the death of Orlock but the Hangman here states he told them the film would never see release BEFORE Orlock’s death.

Even more of a “Phantom of The Paradise” vibe now.

Great colouring job today from GoComics. I like the lighter horizontal streaks through the picture. They are very effective.

Also, I have to give Joe Staton credit for those little hexagons around the edge of the edge of the Hangman’s voice bubbles, presumably showing that his voice has been electronically modified. Joe is full of special effects for voice bubbles. (These don’t look like Abner’s voice bubbles either, which is probably proof that the killer is not Abner Kadaver.)

Body type could certainly pass for Orlock.

Those eyes though …

The necktie looks good on the Hangman.

Hmm. The Hangman appears to be a solidly-built male figure; that could still be Boss Tracy #2 (Morgan Byrd) as I had guessed early on. But a motive is still not clear. Why does The Hangman want the film canned (pun intended; sorry)?

He has a copy of the shooting script. Well, I suppose there are other ways he could have gotten one, but that suggests that he’s connected with the production. Of course we probably figured that out already.

Hmm…body size, and face structure is reminiscing of Gruesome, as suggested.

Some might theorize it’s a ‘return’ of Mr. Pops ? Saved by the Pig on Wheels (Recall him, of Circus fame playing the full game, without face or name?) Or similarly the Blank, nothing to brag about - just a 1937 turn around in a modern Johnny Nothing shirt.But just maybe, it’s the ‘revival’ of a Dr. Mordered “head” ?

Or simply an artistic “contest” on who can create a “mask” that’s rated the “weirdest” Dread ?

Whomever Hangman is, he pretty much confessed to the murders.

He has access to the “top secret ‘Midnite Mirror’” script, and knowing there’s a death in the climax, he’s promising a real one instead.

So if they read the script, Tracy will know who the victim will be (Boss Tracy? All the more reason to NOT be the decoy Mayor Armstrong wants him to be, but Tracy may have to do it anyway to get the killer)

But he had access to the “top secret” script, it should only be in possession of a few people—a director, a writer, and/or producer. Who would benefit more for a film shutdown, and why? Production insurance? Writer’s pride? Artistic license?

Ugh, I’m rambling…

But Why does he not want this film released??? Nice Tie!!

Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to all my American friends. It looks like Tracy will have a working Thanksgiving. He’s right in the thick of things right now.

With the mask, maybe Dr. Mordred is back. Who could forget him and his freaking out while Tracy performed the “power jump” into the lake? (He wasn’t informed that Tracy worked as a stunt driver at carnivals, jumping over busses and the like) Tracy’s nickname in those circles was “T-Bone”.

Here’s something that turned up when Google suggested I search instead for “Byron ORLOK” – It involves, among other things, a (Drive-In) theater, a killing spree, and a horror movie icon played by Boris Karloff!

my wife and I are alone this Thanksgiving as well. We live in Chicago and our son and his family were transferred to Nova Scotia. Not used to an empty house during the holidays.
