Ivanov took the glasses. I don’t see how anyone can doubt that. He found Specs with the glasses, then they disappeared, and now he denies ever having seen them.

When we last left our valiant Crew of the Enterprise Captain Kirk was beginning to panic midway through his second attempt at watching the Warren Beatty Dick Tracy movie with Mad Mysta Mindy. Oh James, it’s wonderful finally watching this classic movie with the man I love.Mysta honey, the moon corn has too much honey on it. My stomach is upset. I need to use the bathroom. HOLD IT IN KIRK! YOU’RE NOT GOING TO RUN AWAY AGAIN! Baby, you know I’ll never do that! Listen, I just need to check in with my crew to make sure everything is ok with the ship repairs. Fine, but don’t even think of leaving. Sure, sure, I’ll be right over there.Kirk to Enterprise, come in Enterprise! Jim! How’s it going?Bones? What’s going on over there? It sounds like a lot of celebrating going on! Jim you’re missing it! Spock and I are celebrating our win in the Karaoke contest and Scotty spiked Spocks Kool Aid with some Romulan ale. Right now he’s trying to stand on one foot while balancing a Tricorder between his pointy ears! Bones, I’m facing the M word and you’re carrying on like it’s 1999?Not my problem Jimbo, you got yourself in this mess, go ahead and get yourself out of it! Gotta go, Sulu and Uhura are fighting over Chekhov! Jim, come finish watching the movie with me and then we can talk about the M word!

Will Captain Kirk avoid taking about the M word? Will Chekhov escape with his dignity intact? Will Spock drop the Tricorder?

Good to see Spicy is alive as well. It is now confirmed that Ivanov got the glasses. It seems like he did not leave Specs after he found him.

What is that strap across Ivanov’s body? Probably a bag where he could stashed the glasses.Only DJ left unaccounted. Also a confirmation on the fate of the blowtorch guy,

For a “Deadly Explosion,” it sure left a lot of survivors.

… not that I complain.

Also, for the record, Specs’ specs went missing between the last two panels of Sunday’s strip.

avenger09 I love the Star Trek story, keep it up. So happy to see Spicy and yes I think Ivanov has the specs, I think we will see some of those down the road that will be out of Russia. For most of you it is Good Morning, but as for me I will say Good Night.

Spicy appears to untouched by the blast; she must have got far enough away or out of the way of it. Interesting change in her facial expressions from panel 1 (concern for Specs) to panel 3 (irritation, at least, at Ivanov). And Ivanov appears within the strip to be doing good cop-work, while we, however, know that he swiped the glasses off the dazed Specs and hid them on his person (maybe in that convenient sling?). He is following the instructions of his Russian Federal Security Service handlers, the dirty, double-crossing commie spy! (Note: slightly tongue-in-cheek, for those who are overly literal-minded….)

Nice to see that Spicy survived. I agree there is no doubt Ivanov has the glasses.

This has been an enjoyable story. Spicy and Specs are fools, but lovable in some ways. They would have been sent back to the Apparatus to be killed, so the blast saved their lives, at least for now.

Look back 2 days ago, Specks had them on while on the stretcher and Ivanov was leaning over him and in the last panel the specs suddenly were gone.

The Russians may find out the same thing as everyone else has to date: the glasses only work on Specs.

I have been speculating that the very vault itself may have contained the blast to a point.

Yes, I’m pretty sure that the strength of the vault would have helped to contain the blast. Also, most of the energy would be directed out through the hold that the safecracker opened up, resulting in a big mess near the casino entrance but much less in any other direction.
