Good morning fellow DT and Kadaver fans!.Bill and Gweedo take a lunch break at the cafe beneath the falls and report what onlookers are saying about this ferocious battle. BMBG will continue their coverage of this battle no matter how gorry it gets or where it takes us. Re-enactments of the famous Sherlock Holmes/Moriarty fight are a regular attraction at the Falls. There is an excellent description of what it’s like in Prospect magazine. At least the time when that reporter witnessed the spectacle, it involved a far boy with a (fake) beard, playing the accordion, along with numerous “pilgrims” in costume. Dick Tracy may be getting more out of his pilgrimage than he bargained for!

The action is heating up. I thought its only the farm boy, Gweedo and Vista Bill who are witnessing the event. It appears that it is open to the public as well. If only we can hear the sound track….

Sigh, at least Tess is safe. Still thinking Dick wants to rehabilitate Abner.

Is that Tess? I don’t think so but if it is she’s looking mighty fine! She looks like she’s 25! Maybe she’s better off if it’s her husband who does a dive! His absence is having a good affect on her. LOL!

A gaggle of spectators is viewing the Mortal Kombat in real time, even as our own media team, Vista Bill and Gweedo, broadcast their play-by-play and banter to the rest of the world….

BTW, Chris Robinson, that questioning blonde in the cafe is not Tess, whose whereabouts remain a mystery to all save Abner Kadaver.It seems likely that the struggle and its climax will extend into the weekend. That’s just how titanic an event this is!

Just go with it, Mr. Waiter – you’ll get more business…

I myself am struggling to determine if that is Tess or not. If it is, why did she slip out of the hotel room without letting Dick know where she was going? How could Abner have known in advance that she would decide to get an early morning cup of coffee – her absence from the room was essential to his plan of coaxing Tracy up to the Falls.If it is not supposed to be Tess, Joe slipped up a little by creating a bystander character who looks so much like Tess that it is confusing us.

Not Tess. Look back a few strips and you will see a much older Tess with a different hair style. Nice touch, however, if it would have been her. Getting up early, leaving a note which was replaced by another note, then looking up and seeing an event that she knew about because of her husband’s love for mystery.

Oh no!! This must be Tess’ long-lost daughter, which she gave up as a teen after a previously-unstated relationship! What a plot twist!!!! LOL j/k :P

Personally, I don’t see much – if any – resemblance to Tess.

It is not Tess. The lady may wish to order a stronger beverage. They should have had a cover charge for the live entertainment.

It definitely is not Tess. Wrong Hairdoo.

He never said that he took Tess prisoner, that was an erroneous assumption on all of our parts.

He didn’t say that he took her (at least on the note) but it was strongly implied by the conversation at the falls. I have no doubt that she is captive.

It never entered my mind that this woman was Tess. She has a completely different hairstyle and is much younger.

Most folks seem to agree that this is not Tess. I do remember that during Chester Gould’s days on the strip, there were often very, very long stretches during which she did not appear. Then, when she did appear, Gould himself seemed to have difficulty drawing her to look the same. More than once, I found myself asking “Wait a minute, is that Tess?”

How cool would it be if Abner turned out to be Vitamin wearing a decaying face mask under a decaying face mask who’s been leading a double life! He always was a ham! LOL!

With the distance away, the Falls height, and all the smoke, the young woman can still identify them as men? LOL
