Leisure suit Lafayette looks out of place at the MCU, yet Patton vouches for him. He looks a bit like Vera Alldid, but Tracy would likely know of such a connection. “Roots in this area” meaning what, exactly? A daughter he has never known? A daughter recently returned from finishing school in Europe? I’m intrigued.
Maybe I’m confused but what notable work did Lafayette do on the Topper case? As far as I know he made himself invisible. I saw him give no information, he was not in on the collar, he didn’t figure in any resolution. So what was his contribution?
oh, good, another storyline to go with Diet’s, Honeymoon and Crystal’s, and the rest….wanna keep the suspense from building up about Sawtooth with as many distraction’s as possible, lol. Still liked the one plot at a time, ala Pruneface, Flattop, 88 Keys, and the rest…….especially with the space deadline now…..
Okay, go with me here…Lafayette Austin is intended to stand out among the more traditional-looking members of the police force. Just like Groovy Grove…Lizz’s deceased husband. Is it possible some sparks will fly? (That could happen whether or not Austin is a good guy.)
So if Austin has been planted into MCU by Bribery, it would be turning the tables on the police, since Lee/T-Bolt was planted in an extremely trusted position in his organization, thanks to MCU.
Three sorts of stories that we haven’t seen Dick Tracy and the MCU entangled in, yet:
1) widespread deep-seated police corruption, like “fix a ticket” Chicago a few decades back,
2) policing as a town ATM, like Pagedale MO, (next door to Ferguson, same problem) which tickets everyone they can in order to fill the town budget hole.
3) endemic, or a reputation for endemic racism, such as the LAPD was accused of at the time of O.J. Simpson’s trial, or the Oakland CA PD was accused of by the Black Panthers in the late 1960s.
— Heck, what if someone on the police force was stupid enough to tweet something like Roseanne Barr did recently?

Good morning™, MCU HQ observers!
Lafayette is back! Or maybe he never left. I wonder if the Chief put him on the payroll.

I wonder if he is a spy for Bribery? Remember Tevo?

We were introduced to him before and now we get to see how he fits into this story.

Good morning™, Welcome Wagoneers !
Would the Sawtooth photos be the ones of the remains of Sawtooth’s handiwork ?

Lizz is always a welcome sight. Especially if she’s in more than one panel.

Did Liz change her hair color? I seem to recall her as a brunette. Or, was that a different Liz?

Can’t wait for the eventual appearance of Lizz’s brother.. “WARREN WORTHINGTON!”
I bet he’s an angel!

I like how Dick is “Tracy” but Lizz is “Ms. Worthington”. Does Lafayette really merit such familiarity with the Senior Detective.

The “Featured Comment” page on this site is totally worthless except for requiring an additional click to get to the page you want.

Do we really need Lafayette Austin working with the Tracyville MCU?! Lizz’s panel 2 look says it all.
Send him back to Central City, where he has yet to get a lead on the Green Hornet!
