I see that Vera Alldid is off the J. Straightedge Trustworthy strip, and some blokes called Joe Staton and Mike Curtis have taken over. What is it with strips being held on life support after the original creators are gone anyway?
I find some of the fake comics in various other comics to be funny. Some even deserve to be real. Strange things exist in other worlds like the Tracyverse.
It’s a good thing you’re doing – I’m sure your friend will truly appreciate the visit – we may miss you a bit in print, but not in spirit…
Thanks, Good Buddy ! He is 4 days into a ten day treatment and lo and behold it’s been some number of visits ago that he was in such good form ! He was even talking machine shop procedure like years ago when he would lecture on different aspects of something he was working on, all that when you might just be passing by when he was scraping on the ways of a mill or lathe. Machines lose their ability to hold tolerances over time and need reworking to maintain precision. The old man’s specialty was Ferrous metallurgy. I am making a small birthday announcement poster for the bulletin board at the apartments he lived at for about half a dozen years before the hospitals and rehabs started.

Thank you all, especially Timmybob, for the comebacks. Left for home at 8:30 and arrived at 10:30.
Ahh, a little Inside the Artist’s Studio schtick from Peter Pitchblende and Ms. Cypher (who may or may not be Devil in disguise; I lean towards not, but await whatever the denouement brings).
And what a comics page that will be! (One I could skip!)

Good morning™, Sawdust and JST readers!
These strips are what we expected and they are at least a bit funnier than the routine we saw with the hired actors.

What can you tell me about J. Straightedge Trustworthy? Is it an analogue for Tracy?

I love seeing “Sawdust” again! I remember it from my earliest reading of this strip.

Now if we could only see The Invisible Tribe.

nice to see that joe and mike also handle the duties on J Straightedge Trustworthy as well.. maybe THAT’S why this strip has been lacking of late

a big, final HEE HAW to Roy Clark who just passed away at 85. This NYC kid loved to watch the show growing up!

The Sawdust characters should be a little worried about all that sneezing going on in the strip below.
