Left behind is B-B Eyes, who has nowhere to hide.

Gypsy Gay has naught to say. She shivers as she walks

Not so bold, her Chi grows cold. She hums yet never talks.

Spirit realm is frightening. None wish to linger long

Spirits shriek and moan and sing a lamentation song.

Strange path they trod ‘tis more than odd, seems one sad spirit mumbles

Hard to make out for he can’t shout, he merely groans and grumbles.

Punjab knows just where to go. Soon they are on the street

B-B’s boys now aim their guns, as Tracy’s brought the heat.

This sojourn shall long stay with them. None forget this place

Saved from death they catch their breath, secured through Punjab’s grace.

“Here he comes to save the day. Punjab the Mystic is on his way!!” Annie and Gypsy had to hold on tight as they traveled through that Wormhole filled with all those Ghastly Ghoulies!

If Annie and Gypsy are not inside the house when Tracy arrests BB Eyes and company, are they still guilty of kidnapping? BB Eyes might just spend a few hours in jail…. that is if they do not engage the police in a shoot out.

I knew this would twist the knife of betrayal in the purists who see their fond memories go up in green smoke. I feel for their pain even if I do not agree with them. They are right in their way. So much colludes to debase their Dick Tracy gem. To me the mixing of universes makes for a larger more exciting one to them tears it down in shards of cutting disaster.

But they still have it much better than over at poor Alley Oop. Still the debauchery goes on all thumbs and stupid jokes. Still you should thank your lucky stars with what you do have.

So, they’re in Punjab now? That’s a neat way to travel across the world. No need of visas and passports!

I think that the dimension/gateway/"wormhole"" is populated with the “Magi” that Punjab references in “flying with the Magi”…

The panel with Punjab, Annie, and Gypsy is one of the best that I’ve seen in the strip so far !

Oh, yeah! Punjab leads the way, in more ways than just one! The eight-foot tall mystical warrior-guardian, along with his deadly and cold partner, “friend Asp,” have always been great favorites of mine, and I’m fine with an Annie cross-over and magical mystery trip (and Gypsy Gay’s name becomes more appropriate by the day), as long as the LOA strip is inactive (save for reruns).

Conversely, I was never a fan of the “Moon Era” sci-fi turn in Tracy; indeed, it helped turn me off the strip (not objecting to Moon Maid per se, but to the whole science fiction element in what had been a gritty detective strip)….
