job interview today at 10am (about an hour and 20 minutes from now) with Walmart! Hopefully it works out because this week is my last unemployment that i can file
i hve another interview with a supermarket chain (shop rite) on saturday at noon, but they want me to work almost 7 days a week.. overnight shift from 11pm til 7:30am monday thru friday, and sunday midnight to 8:30am monday.. AND they said they could send me to any of their 7 other stores.. one is an hour away so to hell with that! even tho the shop rite job *IS** union, id rather have a 30 minute commute to a job i know i wont be made to work 7 days straight
Although it was not originally in the strip, the wrist radio has become iconic.
The original wrist radio had antenna wires running up the wearer’s arm under his clothes. Today, I assume it operates through wi-fi somehow since it also can receive computer signals. The point is that it has adapted over the years. The ability to project streaming computer signals is a great feature. Still, imagine your watch is a wrist radio and try holding it up to your ear in order to hear. You are forced to hold your arm in the Gould position.
It makes you wonder why not take the next step and separate the computer and communication functions. The communication device could and should be more advanced than cell phone communication. Perhaps an adhesive dot containing a micro receiver/transmitter that could be affixed behind the ear (similar to a coclear implant). This would allow the team members to communicate hands free. The old wrist radio could serve as the computer receiving real-time information from the servers at headquarters.
I would like to see more technology returning to the strip. Like Batman, Dick Tracy has come to be known for his gadgets. I think it is a tradition that needs to be reinstated.
Speaking of traditions that might be reinstated, how about an interesting villain, story, a couple chases in different environs, maybe a Tracy in danger trap, you know, like when this was actually a strip worth looking forward to.

Good morning™, suspicious detectives!
Frisk intends to use Lily to get information on Clair. She is wise! She is also playing along in case her mother genuinely wants to be her friend.

1-DT: ALL RIGHT. I’ll stay away from you.
2-PRIMM Good choice Tracy. If you’d a selected the marriage option, I’d a made it my life’s work to make you miserable.
3-DT: GET BACK FIEND BEFORE MY WATCH INCINERATES YOU!
PRIMM: That thing doesn’t have the power of my curling iron. Now get 50 yards away from me before I call a REAL cop.
DT: Owww. Now THAT hurt.
PRIMM: And that’s just a taste of what you missed out on baby.

A friend of mine is the producer for this on TLC (which fits in with the plot we have in this arc):

Gee, Friskie, I hope you do live to call, but I worry that this meeting with your birth-mom may be your last meeting ever….
(P.S. I was hit with an unexpected and very lengthy software update that ate up almost all my computer time today, 8 X 19.)
