In yesterday’s first panel Claire looked rather blasé and nonchalant, a big difference from her current absolutely panicked horror stricken face. If that were me the smoke would have already fallen out of my gaping jaw.
I smell paperwork in the morning. First Tracy has to radio his dispatch to call whatever fire department is responsible for that area to send a rescue squad, and, paramedics. Then he’d better have his dispatch call the state police, since I presume the “coast road” is an interstate, and, as such their territory.
Deja vu for what happened to Silver Nitrate and Sprocket? But none of the foreshadowing we had for their special car so I think they’ve had their chips.
The car went off the bridge “at speed” and hitting the water would have the same effect as hitting a concrete bridge support…
The windshield was already cracked and probably broke upon impact and the Howell’s would be dead from the compact, hypothermia, and drowning…
This isn’t the same as a car that drifts into the water, or gets caught in the water of a flooded street… There’s no high speed in those situations…
In 2016 and 2018, there were catastrophic floods in Old Ellicott City, MD. and there are videos showing a rescue of a woman from her car as it was being swept down Main Street… In that case ( and others ), speed wasn’t an issue and the car remained afloat, although not for long as the water was up to the door windows… It wound up sinking…
And You Tube has many videos on how to escape a rapidly sinking car…

Good morning™, deja vuers!
It’s necessary to repeat this climactic scene for the weekday-only papers. Actually, I imagine that there are papers who don’t print on November 11.
It’s interesting that it’s a recropped duplicate of yesterday with Joe’s inking and frames that are a little taller and narrower.

Ah, since they conveniently fell into the water, there’s still a chance to put the handcuffs on em and produce em in a court of law!

Well no blazing fireball or wrapped around a tree, hopefully they won’t survive and their bodies will be recovered.

Finally, they’ll quit smoking. Won’t drown though, just like BB Eyes using a breathing device not invented yet to survive back in the 40s. Stay tuned.
