I’d be saying “No” to Jerry than a lot longer than that, Very. Considerig his bagged gifts, I think he just picks up something from the McD dollar menu on the way over. It’ all bagged and ready to go. Simple.

Meanwhile….. Ah…. the thought of Christmas in Crustwood….. the snow crunching underfoot, the Dollar Tree decorations, the smell of plastic pine boughs and McDoubles.

Does Joy mean that if, say, the spending limit is $20, you can give a $14 gift if you swear that the close-out paper, the graham cracker box and the second-hand bow cost $6?

So Jerry’s mad cos he’d still have to buy a $20 gift???

Like any of them has ever paid full price for a $20 gift in this lifetime!

Born in Peoria, moved as a baby to Chicago.

Visited Peoria a lot in my youth, and AFAIK it’s still full of distant relatives,

though some later moved to Decatur……. and some to a little town near Cairo…..

and some to Miami Beach….. the Florida extension of Illinois.

But I never lived there myself after the age of two.

I’d be tired of it, too, Burl, given that I can’t stand McDonald’s.

Is Jerry too cheap or too lazy to properly wrap his Chriistmas presents?

he’s tired of the implication of “Happy” meal. heh. he’s happy alright.

Jerry has been ahead of the curve…. with his bags .. I’d estimate about 50% of gifts are now in bags……… NOT just holidays….. BUT also others, such as B-Days…….. AND the bags themselves are heavily re-gifted……..One might even get his own bag and tissue back…… the next year…..! ! !.ON the second time around,….. JOY would still deduct the original cost for the bag assembly…… adjusted for inflation…… to reduce the amount she spent for the gift…… ! ! !

Susan, I don’t think you’ll find any Mr. Rights in Crustwood.

The Finials now live fairly far from Crustwood, in Forrest.

Before flying to Florida, Frank felt he should finally fulfill his filial duty to find his father’s old friends, the Pennys.

They are not fond of frequenting this place — the food is frightening, the flatware funky, the floors filthy….

But every few years they feel that a four hour trip to favor their old family friends for 50 minutes, while not fun, is fairly feasible.

GymShoe….. sshhh…… don’t tell RayC we were talking about the chairs…….
