Aha!! Finally explained! One time several of us noted that there were inexplicable stairs in the picture, leading towards the front door from what we’d thought was their single-story living room.

Rumpus rooms! Of course! When I was a kid in Illinois and Wisconsin, LOTS of people had them, but I’d forgotten.

The Day the Earth Sat Still… just like Burl….. OK…. gonna just bite my tongue and not mention one of my pet peeve grammatical errors…cos don’t believe artists should be required to be English teachers. In fact, I hate it when people spell and grammar-check others in the forums, too…. but dang.

    Like your frog, Marg!

Burl should be careful, when Verl comes back, she may accidently wink wink spill the coffee on his lap!

    Morning Crustwoodians!

I am about to go downstairs for a cup of coffee!

Verla lives in a bi-level? If Burl and Jer are down there then there must be a bathroom lurking around some where. Can’t see either of them watching TV on a different floor from it.

Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown, and things seem hard or tough, When people are stupid, obnoxious, or daft, and you feel like you’ve had quite enough….♫Just remember that you’re standing on a planet that’s evolvingAnd revolving* at nine hundred miles an hour,That’s orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it’s reckoned,A sun that is the source of all our power. The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can seeAre moving at a million miles a dayIn an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,Of the galaxy we call the ‘Milky Way’. ♫- Monty Python(*the Brits say “revolving” while we Yanks say “rotating.”)

Usually use the glasses to tell JOY from VERL.… so today it is confusing…. except the speech balloon suggests that is VERL in pink…. ! ? !

In Cleveland we had a “family room” in the basement (1st time I ever heard the term, so for years I thought family rooms were in the basement.)

My grandparents and one aunt and uncle had “rumpus rooms,” another aunt and uncle had a wet bar so they called the huge space “the bar.”

Gymshoe …You can tell it’s Verl cos she wears her hair in a little bun; Marge has a French twist. And also cos she says “Joy” at the end of her sentence.

Marg – I forgot to remind you to plunk your magic twanger!
