So take Dale and Marlene along to the visitation. Why not as quite often very few know everyone at these functions even when they’re supposed to be family only. At the visitation for my wife’s sister 2 weeks ago there were folks present neither one of us knew. Turned out they were from a loose group of people who often went to visitations of people they didn’t know simply for something to do. They exchange emails with each other about visitations, funerals, weddings, etc. in each other’s general areas. Weird.
It seems the last, best thing the Pennys can do for Ted is to honor him by their absence from his service. I’d want that. I’d hire security to stop ’em at the door if they did come. But you can bet that they are going to be sure to attend the post-burial reception and that Joy will have her big purse at the ready.Country bull pate and bull en croute. When my little niece was killed, an aunt and uncle practically moved in for the three days …to support the family. The dad weighed about 450, the son, 550 (no kidding), and the mom was no pixie either. Isn’t it nice that people like that can be depended on. Since it was so tragic a circumstance, everyone was especially giving. A lot of food. Sigh… most families have Penny-types.

I would think they would just as soon crash the funeral and get the free meal, why waste time at the visitation, they don’t even serve snacks.
