Poor Ma. She’s tired. She’s bored. She’s stuck with Burl. Her shoulder hurts. He finger burns. Her teeth itch. And she’s going to have to hoof it for 1/4 mile to get anything to eat. As to her paying for things, methinks she pays twice as often and as much as Burl.
when I was about eight I cleaned out my moms purse. Found all( about 20 pieces) of the missing pieces to the flatware. Removed duplicate brushes combs and makeup among other things. I also found over 35 dollars in loose change. Boy that purse was as light as a feather. was my Mom impressed NOOOO ! The only impression was her hand print on my backside. So I didn’t tell her about the change and figured we were even.
I think Burl does pretty good, not sure how I could handle a Mother in Law that is around almost every day. The less you see the In laws better things seem to go.

Yeah, pretty bold words for a guy who goes to Florida every year on Ma’s dime.
Hey I know that’s an old expression… but I prove I’m not ancient by not saying “on Ma’s nickel,” right?
Not that they weren’t still a nickel when I first used them…“them” for you youngsters being “pay phones.”
Kinda like …. hmmm… cell phones, but not your own…well, land lines, actually…and you put in money to use them…
OK… think of Superman….
that little changing booth…. right?

Ma’s complaint brings to mind an old tune called “She Can’t Find Her Keys” by Paul Petersen, ca. 1962.

Well, I have to admit, I had a great mother in law but she passed away last week. I will miss her.

…….she’d packed up her troubles, or whatever, in her old kit bag, and frowned, brother, frowned!!
