    Actually, about once a month I collect all of the “unmentionables” such as trash cans, tennis shoes (which don’t do well getting banged around in the washing machine) nick-knacks, combs and brushes, and run them through the dishwasher. Then I run the empty dishwasher with a packet of Kool-Aid to clean it. NEVER the toilet brush, though. That is grody.You can also soak brass items in grape Kool-Aid to remove tarnish. (old military trick)

    We used a military version of kool aid to clean our m-16 when I was in the army.

    toilet brush in the dishwasher ewwww. that would require four or five cycles with bleach afterwards

    No. When said kitchen brush was pulled back up from the putrid depths of THAT bowl, all the bristles would be melted off…..the handle’d likely get a flash-burn, too…..
