When I was a child, we had Advent Calendars and were satisfied with the little Christmas-themed picture in the widow that was opened each day. It wasn’t until I had children of my own that I ever heard of chocolates in those windows. I think that is the wrong thing to do. The pictures were enough for us to start getting excited about Christmas, but of course, the stores did not display Christmas stuff in their windows or carry that merchandise until December back then. I wish it were still so. Too much commercialism these days and not enough of the real meaning of Christmas.
