Well, that’s why the right lanes weren’t shut down earlier. So they could be used as long as possible.

I hate it when people do that. I don’t let them in either.

Burl is actually doing it correctly. The proper way to merge is to fill both lanes up to the merge point and then alternate cars at the merge point.

MANY people believe that’s the proper way to do it- that you’re supposed to zipper merge at the closure. Sure. That’s why they put signs up two miles ahead…

….Whoo-whee! ANOTHER keeper! Back in 2013, well, I said it before, and I’ll say it again: “Hey kids! Let’s play that :fade out, fade in game! This scene in 2013 fades out, O.K.? Then it fades back in, and it’s….2023! And they don’t have roads anymore, exactly: the cars all hover about 2-3 feet off the ground. Some drivers notice the weathered, rusted, paint-faded sedan with dry-rotted tires and three skeletons inside…!!!!!??…oh, that dimwit Svenson! He forgot to pull the MERGE NOW sign down before he retired in 2013!”……

Nothing brings people of different cultures and social status together like the jerk who doesn’t merge.

Us truckers watched for idiots like this, and we talked on the CB. Often one of us would ride the white stripe to block the lane that was ending, or drive next to a truck who would let us in when the lane ended.

We have two seasons. Winter and construction. You would think that people who spend months every year with construction would have some manners and use their experience to keep traffic moving as well as possible. I have seen it happen on occasion, but there is always someone like Burl, the rules don’t apply, and they just think they have to cut everyone off and go first. It slows down the actual movement of traffic. Patience is helpful during construction.
