now folks can’t get mad at me for tacitly endorsing funny wikipedia vandalism because fictional jimbo wales HIMSELF is all for it. good ol’ fictional jimbo wales! he’s the most accommodating instance of jimbo wales that i know of.
Hmm. I replaced “Evil” with “the Irish” and cleaned up the cardinality errors. Sounds pretty good to me, but I’d better be careful as me wee wife is Irish:
The Irish, in a general context, are taken as the absence or complete opposite of that which is ascribed as being good. Often, the Irish are used to denote profound immorality.1 In certain religious contexts, the Irish have been described as a supernatural force.1 Definitions of the Irish vary, as does the analysis of their root motives and causes.2 However, elements that are commonly associated with the Irish involve unbalanced behavior involving expediency, selfishness, ignorance, or neglect.3
More like a secondary to tertiary source, but in my usage of it, I’ve found it to be surprisingly reliable (considering the bad rep). And yes, I’ve fact-checked.
Actually, the surprising downfall of Wikipedia is that it’s actually limited on the data you can glean from it on any particular subject (because, as an encyclopedic source, it generalizes the subjects) and you’re better off adding to that info from other sources that go into more detail (which is how I was able to fact-check Wikipedia).
And, when you think about it, all the other knowledge sources are JUST as capable of being bias or inaccurate as well, if not more source, because the number of contributors are much fewer; less chance to for check-and-balance to kick in.
