I’m fairly sure my dog (golden retriever) would have done this if she had had the chance when she was a puppy. Of course she quickly learned that she could actually jump this high without suction cups or even higher by bouncing off a chair.

I swear retriever-type doggies have black holes powering them on the inside. I know people who leave automated feeders out or even a box of treats and the non-retriever dog only goes and gets one once in awhile. A retriever would have somehow eaten the treats before they even existed.

    Look more closely.

A number years back we had an odd little crimewave here in San Francisco. A dozen or so cars had their windows smashed, but the only thing taken from each was a suction-cup Garfield. A much as I condemn vigilantism, I was nonetheless pleased by what appeared to be a bold action in the war against tackiness and inanity. Alas, when they caught the guy it turned out that he was giving them all to his girlfriend, rather than throwing them in the Bay as I’d hoped.

I think the suction-cup Garfields went the way of “Baby On Board” signs.
