CFLs make a lot of people sick and can cause skin cancer, and should be banned. Unfortunately it’s the industry that pays the biggest bribes that gets to decide what’s banned. Public health and safety have nothing to do with it. (This has been your ultra-cynical message of the day…)

Lightbulbs are not a problem for me. Changing batteries in smoke detectors is quite another thing though,
