What gets me is how quickly my dog stops to smell something we just passed on his morning “sprint-n-sniff” (no observer could call it a “walk”). That’s why I have an extendable leash, so he can go from sprinting 15’ ahead of me to a standstill 10’ behind me while I decelerate.
