Let;s hope that Brian isn’t giving up the strip and going to reruns, too.

Wonderful tribute to Mr. Thompson and Cul de Sac. They will be missed greatly.

    A little background:

Although it hadn’t been around that long and wasn’t in a whole lot of papers, Cul de Sac was highly regarded, and its creator, Richard Thompson, was awarded the Cartoonist of the Year award (the Reuben) this pat year by his peers. Many readers apparently found the strip hard to connect to, but it’s a strip that other cartoonists love. Alas, Mr. Thompson is struggling with Parkinson’s Disease, and is unable to continue producing the strip, so it’s in reruns. But as of this past week it looks like GoComics is starting with the beginning, so if you’re unfamiliar with it now’s a good time to start.

Brian, you have out done yourself today! Just absolutely lovely! I also loved your tribute in Team Cul de Sac. Very good folks, I highly recommend it. And the proceeds goes to Parkinson Disease Research.

If you’ve never read “Cul de Sac” you are in for such a treat. I do envy you. It was one of those strips that kept me motivated to improve every day.
