Well, >I< think it’s funny. Cats always play with their catch before ripping its head off. You should see (or maybe you shouldn’t) the condition of what my next door neighbor’s outdoor cats leave on her deck as “presents” for her. Every once in a while they leave me a little gift, too. YUCK

Sad and sick sums it up. I never did like these cats, and before you all get up in arms, let me clarify: not all cats, just these two. The whole tone of a great comic deteriorated when they were introduced. They’re evil, not playful or lovable.

Funny comics, like Dick Tracy, Brenda Starr or the Phantom? Yeah, those were a real laugh a minute.

I must say I don’t like the cats in this strip either. They aren’t funny and seem out of context of what this strip used to be about.

Lighten up Crabbear…it’s just a comic. It love those wee tricksey beasties! Wish we could see more of them, but they are likely busy thinking up nefarious projects. BWAH HA HA.

Just because someone has an opinion not agreeing with yours is no reason act like a snotty, hateful troll, bwalk7217 wasn’t out of line,,,you were.

Anderson is just channeling his love of Stephen King and or Tim Burton

Actually I thought it reminded me of James Bond and Dr No, “No, Mr. Bond, now I intend to kill you.”

That is terrible! It touches on the evils of human and humane life.The death penalty is barbaric . I hope it will get overturned. Of course I know this is just a comic, but- because people can’t or won’t get their pets “Fixed” there is the very real masses of kittens and puppies are put to death every day.Rant over. It is cute, and being a comic I can say, oh, the kitties had a change of heart at the last minute.

It’s Homage! I just read in the paper that, while he is best known for Dracula, Christopher Lee started his horror career by playing the monster in “The curse of Frankenstein” in 1957. I didn’t check the comments again so someone else may have shared this first. R.I.P Sir Christopher.

Never commented on Dog eat Doug before, but this one is gruesome, not funny, and repulsive.

Personally I like the little cute ones like yesterday better, But; I (and none of you are either) am not the writer or the standard of what is acceptable or funny to other people or what is not. Laugh when you like it. Don’t when you don’t. Like my Canadian bud said “it’s a comic”.

I think the cats are just seen from Sophie’s point of view; inherently sinister and unpredictable, with the most evil intentions Sophie can imagine.

I have really disliked those cats since they first showed up.
