Adopt from your local shelter. And neuter or spay your pet. If you have the resources, help a local group cover the cost of neuter/spay for people who can’t afford it.
All 6 of my cats are rescues, and I wouldn’t trade any of them for the fanciest purebred alive. Shelters have great animals, all hoping for a good home.
