Sophie, while you’re in there, can you dust off the skeletons?

Our dog isn’t the only one disturbed by thunder, it gets to the cats as well

One of them runs from room to room, we think he’s looking for a place where it isn’t thundering

My Shep/Lab mix, used to bark at thunder. I always wondered if she just thought it was a big dog barking and she had to respond!

Our new puppies aren’t bothered by thunder, but our grown Lab now has medication to calm her down. At least with thunder we can look at the weather report and prepare. The fireworks and gun fire always take us by surprise.

We used to have a St. Bernard who tried to hide under the kitchen table. We called it a Thunder Séance.

Poor baby. Mom’s little terrier and pops Schnauzer were both frightened of Boom-Booms.

I took my yellow Lab out onto the porch during thunderstorms so he wouldn’t Be afraid. It worked.

You guys need a thunder jacket for your dogs. Available on Amazon, Chewy and other fine pet supply stores. :-)

When I had my cat Kimber, she could tell when storms were coming miles away and hid for hours. Even, when they were gone.

My two older cats were never afraid of thunder until we got to sit in the eyewall of Ivan for 14 hours. They are now afraid of storms and hide in the bathroom behind the toilet. The 7-year-old is afraid because the two older cats are afraid. The latest rescue is not afraid, and in fact, loves storms since the other three go into hiding and they do pick on her a lot. The freedom to run around the house trumps the noisy thunder.
