While I’m sitting at my desk, concentrating on some work, Sophie comes through the dog door and sits down a few feet behind me. Quietly. Atypical behavior for Soph, so I turn to look at her. You know that cute little dog smile you occasionally see? That’s exactly what she did as the two foot black snake slipped out of her mouth, slithered across the floor, and disappeared under some shelving. We assume this was the same black snake we found stretched across the upstairs hallway a month or so later. He’s out in the back yard now.
Ah yes. The joy and entertainment of simple mayhem and chaos with rodents. …good times. (I used a garden snake to the same effect in 5th grade. It still brings a smile to my face.)
When my son was a teenager he left his window open so his cat could get in and out whenever she wanted to, she showed her appreciation by bringing him live presents
Typical teenage boy, his room was a mess and it took forever to tear it apart and catch the mouse

Brian sure know his cats. This is exactly what mine do, every cat I’ve ever had. (Stone basements in New England aren’t mouse proof.)

Sylvester did this to show that he was needed in the house. These cats are tricky.

People hate cats because they behave like people do, dogs display blind loyalty.
